USA Shipping

Shipping to USA with DHL Express:
📦 €25 flat rate (free if your order is over €150).
⏳ Delivery usually takes 3–5 business days once shipped.

A little note about U.S. customs:
USA Import duties and taxes are always the customer’s responsibility and aren’t included in the product price or shipping fees.
💎 For jewelry, the duty is usually around 6% of the item’s value, and then customs may add local taxes and clearance fees, which can bring the total to about 20–30% of the product value (including shipping).
📋 Since August 2025, the U.S. has changed its rules — even small parcels can now be subject to customs charges.

✨ In short: shipping is safe and fast with DHL, but please be aware of possible import costs when your order arrives in the U.S.

Jewelry

My pieces are crafted with high-quality metals like brass, bronze, and copper.
Finished with a meticulous, eco-friendly, hand process, each piece has its own unique color and luster. Often finished with hand-painted color patinas. The central pieces are usually Nickel and lead-free. I also incorporate Swarovski crystals, lucite flowers, ceramic beads, and glass for added charm and durability.

My jewelry is made from metals like brass, bronze, and copper, which may sometimes leave a harmless green tint on the skin. This is simply an oxidation reaction with the skin’s natural oils and can be easily removed with soap and water. This green color is not an allergic reaction.

However, if you experience symptoms such as redness, itching, or inflammation—common signs of a nickel allergy—it’s possible that my pieces may not be suitable. Most metal alloys contain trace amounts of nickel, which can trigger reactions in those with nickel sensitivities.

For those with high sensitivity, only gold and rhodium-plated silver are generally considered truly nickel-free.

To help minimize reactions, I apply a protective resin coating to the earring hooks, and I offer an option to replace silver-toned hooks with silver-plated, nickel-free alternatives upon request.

Brass, Bronze, and Copper

To keep your AcuaLea jewelry looking beautiful, I recommend gentle care for brass, bronze, and copper pieces. Over time, these metals may develop a natural patina, adding a unique charm. However, if you prefer their original shine, follow these tips:

  1. Remove pieces before swimming, showering, or exercising, as water and sweat can accelerate tarnishing.
  2. Keep jewelry in a dry, airtight container or fabric pouch to minimize exposure to air and humidity.
  3. Use a soft cloth to buff your jewelry and restore shine. For deeper cleaning, dip a cloth in a mild lemon solution, gently wiping only the non-painted parts, and dry thoroughly.
  4. Perfumes, lotions, and cleaning products can tarnish metals. Apply them before putting on your jewelry.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is durable and resistant to tarnish, making it one of the easiest materials to care for:

  1. Simply wipe with a soft cloth after use to remove fingerprints and oils.
  2. Stainless steel resists moisture, but it’s still best to remove pieces before swimming in chlorinated pools or the sea.
  3. Although strong, exposure to bleach or strong chemicals may dull the surface over time.

Sterling Silver 925

Sterling silver naturally oxidises over time, creating a darker patina. Some people enjoy this vintage look, but you can maintain brightness with these tips:

  1. Keep silver pieces away from humidity and chemicals.
  2. Use an airtight bag or pouch with an anti-tarnish strip if possible.
  3. Use a silver polishing cloth for light tarnish. For deeper cleaning, use mild soap with warm water and dry completely.

⚠️ Avoid dips or aggressive cleaners, especially if your piece has hand-painted patinas.

Gold-Plated Brass (Yellow or Rose Gold)

Gold plating is a delicate surface finish and requires extra care to preserve its shine:

  1. Remove rings when doing manual tasks. Friction may wear away the plating.
  2. Avoid water and sweat, as moisture can dull the plating.
  3. Wipe with a very soft cloth after use. Do not use chemical cleaners or polishing pastes, as they can strip the plating.
  4. Keep separately in a soft pouch to avoid scratching against harder metals.

Solid Gold 18K

18K gold is durable and resists tarnish, but care will keep it looking radiant:

  1. Clean with warm water and a drop of mild soap, then dry with a soft cloth.
  2. A professional jeweller can polish gold to restore its high shine if needed.
  3. Store separately in a fabric pouch or lined box to avoid scratches from harder gemstones or metals.
  4. Though gold does not oxidise like silver, perfumes, chlorine, or harsh cleaning chemicals can damage the surface over time.
